I know this character, he lives near Waco. One arm, no legs. I used him in my fanfic because he's remarkable. He used to work at the same steel company that my son & husband worked at. The tire changing scene really happened.
When somebody alerted him that his tire was flat he yelled at the top of him lungs that nobody was to ****ing touch his truck. That's when the plant emptied to the front parking lot to watch.

He was a participant in all the company activities. At the annual fishing tournament, I saw him stand under the tailgate, reach up with his only hand then flip himself onto the bed of the truck.

Once when he & my son drove to HEB for a deli lunch, he waited on the hot sidewalk for the owner of a handicap parking violator to emerge. Then he threw one helluva fit screaming about the hot pavement & where he had to park because some sonuvabitch with 2 good legs couldn't walk the distance. What a scene he created. The driver couldn't get away fast enough.

Driving home erratically one night he was pulled over. The patrolman asked him "Are you drunk?" Then asked him to get out & walk a straight line. That's when J.S. plopped onto the ground & ask the cop if HE was blind. Cop didn't say much after that, he just left & waved J.S. on.
